The Royal Wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle is on Saturday, May 19, and we could not be any more excited. There are so many details to discuss, including the fact that this is arguably the most progressive wedding ever to come out of The Royal Family. The event will mark the first time in history that a member of the Royal Family will marry a divorced, American woman of color. That is truly extraordinary!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle revealed their engagement photos, taken by Alexi Lubomirski, in December 2017. Lubomirski was also named the official photographer for the Royal Wedding.

Before Harry met Meghan, he was considered a ladies man. The prince has dated the likes of actress Cressida Bonas and X Factor host Caroline Flack. Meghan Markle is most famous for her portrayal of Rachel Zane on the USA show Suits, and was married to movie producer Thomas Engelson from 2011 - 2013.

Meghan and Harry met in 2016 after a mutual friend set them up on a blind date. The two were engaged in November 2017 and the rest, as they say, is history.

Harry and Meghan’s passion for helping others was the spark that kept this relationship alive. She served as an ambassador for UN Women and traveled with the USO as part of a holiday tour. Harry has dedicated his charity work to helping wounded and disabled soldiers, launching the Invictus Games in 2014.

While over 2,600 young leaders and community activists have been invited to watch the Royal Wedding on the Windsor Castle grounds, only 600 guests will attend the ceremony. A-list guests will include Priyanka Chopra, Elton John, Serena Williams, and the Spice Girls.

Other details confirmed for the big day include the cake - a lemon elderflower creation by Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes; the floral arrangements, designed by Philipa Craddock, and the music, conducted by Director of Music for St. George’s Chapel, James Vivian. There will also be a special performance by 19-year old cello prodigy Sheku Kanneh-Mason.

The Royal Wedding is expected to cost a cool $40 million, with the majority spent on security costs. Harry and Meghan have elected to postpone their secluded Namibian honeymoon for one week, as they have prior royal engagements.

If you are interested in watching all the excitement of the big day, the TODAY Show plans on covering the wedding, which will begin at 7:00 AM Eastern Time. Hulu and YouTube will also stream the wedding through their services.

We are looking forward to seeing all the details of the Royal Wedding come to life on May 19, and wish this beautiful couple a royal happily ever after.
